The AI Image Apocalypse – Five Machines Enter. Humanity Gets Extra Fingers.

Once upon a time, creatives had three fears: Clients. Scope creep. Comic Sans.

Five machines emerged from the silicon wasteland, each promising to “democratise creativity,” which is tech-bro language for “we’re about to make designers sweat.”

Midjourney lives in a dark apartment filled with incense and impossible architecture. You ask it for: “A man drinking coffee.” You receive: “A melancholic Scandinavian god floating above an abandoned cathedral while ravens discuss capitalism.” Nobody understands Midjourney. Everyone pretends they do. Midjourney is the guy at the agency who says: “I don’t design logos. I explore emotional ecosystems.”

ChatGPT arrived late to the party. It writes emails. It creates presentations. It answers questions. It builds code. Then one day it said: “Oh, I also make images.” Everyone in the office suddenly became nervous. ChatGPT is the intern who was hired to make coffee but accidentally became the managing director.

Firefly wears a tucked-in golf shirt. It believes in processes. It has opinions about brand guidelines. While Midjourney is painting dragons on the moon, Firefly asks: “Have we considered the legal implications of this dragon?” Creative directors trust it. Artists fear becoming it.

Leonardo owns three monitors. RGB lights. Mechanical keyboard. Probably says things like “Let’s upscale the render.” It can create incredible visuals but insists on giving you 42 versions because apparently suffering builds character.

Ideogram has one job: Actually spelling words correctly. Which, in AI terms, is basically magic.

While every other AI writes: “GRAND OPENlNG SALE” Ideogram quietly fixes the sign and judges everyone.
